Bangkok is set to host its most vibrant and inclusive Pride celebration yet, with organizers aiming to position the city as a major global center for LGBTQ+ culture and advocacy.
Slated for June 1, 2025, the Bangkok Pride Festival, themed “Born This Way,” will transform Rama 1 Road into a lively, rainbow-themed celebration of diversity and equality. The event is a collaboration between Naruemit Pride, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), and a wide array of community organizations and private sponsors.

One of the standout features will be a 200-meter identity flag—touted as the world’s longest of its kind—joining an array of rainbow flags to visually express Thailand’s support for gender and sexual diversity.
The festival is designed to attract not only local participants but also international visitors and allies, helping to elevate Bangkok as a welcoming destination for the LGBTQ+ community. This effort is part of the city’s broader goal of becoming the host of World Pride 2030.
According to ‘Waaddao’ Chumaporn Taengkliang, president of Naruemit Pride, the event is a powerful expression of love, inclusion, and resilience within Thailand’s LGBTQ+ population. The theme “Born This Way” also underscores the continuing push for recognition and equality, especially in light of Thailand’s recent legalization of same-sex marriage, a historic milestone for Southeast Asia.
Attendance is expected to exceed 300,000, making it the largest Pride gathering in the country’s history and potentially one of the top ten global Pride parades. Organizers hope to see the festival become a permanent fixture on Thailand’s cultural calendar and a magnet for global tourism.
Beyond the parade, Naruemit Pride plans to launch a dedicated digital platform for the LGBTQ+ community, offering services and resources on a global scale. This initiative will begin shortly after the festival concludes.

The Pride march will span over three kilometers, from the National Stadium to CentralWorld, and will be divided into five thematic segments:
- Red: Celebrating love and the right to marry
- Purple: Embracing self-identity and pride
- Green: Connecting LGBTQ+ rights to environmental consciousness
- Yellow: Promoting queer art and cultural expression
- Blue: Advocating for equal access to healthcare
Additional highlights include the Bangkok Pride Awards, a Pride Forum to discuss LGBTQ+ issues, and a Pride Party for celebration. The DRAG BANGKOK Festival 2025 will also debut, aiming to spotlight Thailand’s drag artists on an international stage.
Deputy Bangkok Governor Sanon Wangsrangboon emphasized that the festival demonstrates the city’s readiness to host World Pride 2030, pointing to Bangkok’s infrastructure, inclusivity, and strong social support as key strengths.
With Thailand’s progressive stance on LGBTQ+ rights and its newly passed same-sex marriage law, the country is poised to see a boost in tourism and global recognition. The 2025 Bangkok Pride Festival is not only a celebration of diversity but also a strategic cultural and economic initiative, reflecting Thailand’s vision of a more inclusive future.
